There are several places in Gastein where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the magnificent mountain panoramas in the distance. Let's take a look at a basic list of where we definitely recommend a trip.
Bad Gastein
The town is one of the ideal locations for choosing a hotel in Bad Gastein. Thanks to its strategic location, you can get practically anywhere and as a bonus, we'll start the panoramas right here. The Wasserfallweg - a hiking trail along the famous waterfall flowing through Bad Gastein - starts in the town centre. The trail reveals magnificent panoramas of the historic town centre and the surrounding area. At each cascading stage of the waterfall you will see differently situated and revealing natural and architectural beauties. Sit on a bench, forget your worries, gaze into the distance and observe the mighty nature.
Nassfeld
The most special and southernmost part of the Gastein valley. Countless waterfalls line the hiking trail and are a feast for the eye. The symphony of nature plays one of its most successful works here - beautiful green meadows, streams lining the path, fragrant flowers, mountains, chirping birds - all await you here. Enjoy the view of the mountains both from below and from the tops of the trails into the valley - both provide the perfect spectacle for your eye.
Fulseck
Fulseck is located in the nearby town of Dorfgastein. You can reach the altitude of 2033 m on foot, you can also choose to cycle or take the mountain cable car. At the top, you'll be rewarded with perfect panoramas that will definitely be etched in your memory as one of the best experiences. You will have a view of the entire Gastein valley and the surrounding mountains. The Fulseck also offers various trails that will certainly make your ascent to the heavens more enjoyable (e.g. the mushroom trail).
Graukogel
A leisurely hike gives you views of the valleys and mountain peaks of the Hohe Taurern National Park. The Graukogel offers a short walk through the Zirbenweg pine forest with many pleasant resting places. Make sure you wear good shoes. A cross has stood at the top of the Graukogel since the 1960s.
