You can do it all on your own and you don't need a guide, thanks to the information boards you won't get lost.

  1. Mushroom trail

    Do you love mushrooms? The mushroom trail in Dorfgastein is just for you, with information and education boards for passionate mycologists. This trail runs under the cable car on the Fulseck. Cook up some delicious mushroom soup, fritters, amolets and more. Gastein's valleys and hills are full of forests, so you don't just have to follow the official mushroom trail, but pop into the first forest that tweaks your nose, and there's no ban, and start enjoying the mushroom kingdom - porcini mushrooms, dry mushrooms, scrubber mushrooms, honeysuckle, bedstraws, chanterelles, chanterelles and more - depending on the season.

  2. Habitat trail

    The habitat trail is also located in Fulseck and leads towards Mount Arltörl. You will meet rare animals and plants at every turn in different seasons. For example, you can look forward to seeing newts! Along the way, you can also enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

  3. Pine trees on the Graukogel

    A wonderful walk among the centuries-old pine trees. The Zirbenweg - a trail running at an altitude of 1950 m - was built on the mountain and is 45 minutes long. You will never miss the start - always at the cable car start and continue according to the signs. Along the way you can rest on the pine tree benches and draw energy, there are pine tree swings for children, a pine bridge and more. Suffering from high blood pressure? Then this trail is just for you - pine trees have positive effects on high blood pressure and help calm the whole body.

  4. The Gastein Legend Trail

    Learn about the local legends of the Gastein valley from the information boards. The path is lined with information boards that guide you through the history. A beautiful walk in the Alpine countryside.

  5. Geomantic trail

    9 stone sculptures between the villages of Klammstein in Dorfgastein and Sportgastein. The trail runs along the Gasteiner Ache river, so you can refresh yourself in high temperatures or relax to the sound of the rushing water.

  6. The SportgasteinNational Park Trail

    Green alpine pastures, glacier peaks covered in snow, lakes and colourful flowers. Information signs along the way tell you interesting information about the flora and fauna of the particular area you are in.

  7. The Gastein Healing Grottoes Theme Trail

    The Gastein Grottoes are one of the world's most famous artefacts, where people come from all over the world to be healed. You can experience the therapy and treatment for yourself - the experience is definitely worth it. On the trail, you will learn about the history and attractions of the Gastein Grottoes, as well as about the important personalities who have visited the Grottoes and the healing effects on that part of the body.

  8. The bird trail

    2 beautiful km connecting the historic centre of Bad Gastein and the Kötschachtal valley. The trail reveals beautiful views of the High Tatras - definitely don't forget your camera! There are tame squirrels on the bird trail that you can hand feed :)
