Catch Bad Gastein, 2 glaciers, Zell am See in one day!

Are you spending your holiday in Bad Gastein? Are you looking for the perfect tips for a car trip or where to ski? The Gastein valley itself offers a wealth of activities, but what about venturing a little further afield? A route that will dazzle you and definitely won't be stereotypical, because you'll see so many natural attractions, and you'll have a ride you'll never forget!

Bad Gastein - Ankogel - Moelltaler - Zell am See - Bad Gastein

From Bad Gastein you will start at the Bad Gastein railway station. Between Böckstein at the southern end of the Gasteinertall and Mallnitz, the railway boasts the Tauern Railway Tunnel, which has been in operation since 1906. Why is it famous? It is one of the few tunnels that run under the main Alpine ridge. The train runs 8 times a day. So you get a ride right under the Alps, where you would never get in a car at such short speeds. As well as transporting passengers, you can also transport a car. The final station where you take the train is Mallnitz, where it departs at the Ankogel glacier - enjoy the beautiful scenery and majestic heights. Once you've seen the breathtaking glaciers and tried the even better slopes, take the 105, 106, 107 roads in turn to the next glacier, this time the Mölltaler - the drive takes about 1 hour 50 minutes. Mölltaler is the highest ski area in eastern Carinthia. Whether for hiking or skiing, you'll definitely enjoy the Mölltaler - but beware that racers prefer to ski there!

The next route and stop is Zell am See and skiing at Kaprun. The mountain side, at an altitude of over 3029 m, boasts year-round ice and snow, which enhances the spectacular mountain panoramas. Not only for enjoying, but you can also put on your ski boots and skis and go skiing in summer. The magnificent views of the 30 Alpine peaks, including the Grossglockner, will appeal to anyone who loves nature and snow-capped peaks. Kaprun is one of the most visited ski resorts - popular with locals, foreigners and Czechs alike. You'll meet a variety of nationalities there, but it tends to be crowded due to its popularity, so enjoy skiing in Bad Gastein and the surrounding area in peace.

In one day you can ski on 2 glaciers, Kaprun and Bad Gastein - try which ski resort and where you basically ski best. Enjoy countless different slopes in 4 locations in one day and take a ride in the Tauern Railway Tunnel. This trip and skiing is worth it!
